Houseman / Handyman
The HOUSEMAN is a man employed for cleaning, maintenance, and other general work inside and outside of the home.
Essential functions of the job may include:
- Cleaning the interior and exterior of the home
- Ensure grounds, garages and all work spaces are neat and clean
- Perform small household repairs and assist the housekeepers if needed
- Keep property free of debris, litter and pests
- Take care of trash and recycling inside and outside household
- Maintain household appliances in excellent condition
- Wash Windows, walls and ceilings as needed
- Move furniture, set up tables and chairs and remove and store for parties and events
- Power wash patio, entrance and walkways
Other responsibilities could include:
- Running errands
- Caring for household pets
- Keeping household supplies stocked
- Automobile care and maintenance
- Gardening
- Laundry
- Serving for parties and events
- Ensures all HVAC, propane and generator equipment is serviced and in working condition
Minimum requirements for a houseman are:
- 2 to 5 years experience working in a private residence
- Professional references
- Valid Drivers license and clean driving record
A HOUSEMAN may be work part time or full time for a household. Success factors require the HOUSEMAN to be organized, have the ability to anticipate the needs of the household and have verbal and written English communications skills.
