We get this question every year! It’s hard to know what to get your nanny, who does so much for your family and home. With the season of giving upon us, we thought we’d share thoughts on typical holiday bonuses for nannies.
Typically for a full-time nanny, a holiday bonus is one to two weeks of their normal salary. This decision can be made based on job performance, how long they’ve been with your family, and what is within your family’s financial means. Some long-term nannies can receive more than two weeks’ holiday bonus. It’s entirely up to your family!
Here are a few simple, additional ideas to gift your nanny in addition to their bonus:
- A framed picture of your nanny and children
- Hand-made cards from the kids
- Extra paid-time time off to use when they’d like
- A gift card for a massage or mani/pedi
- A gift certificate to their favorite restaurant
