Description

Permanent part-time person needed to assist  and coach a man in his sixties with day-to-day living duties and giving direction on achieving short and long-term life goals. The ideal candidate will bring a dynamic creative approach, be a problem-solver and possess a good sense of humor. Candidate should be diplomatic and assertive when necessary. Candidate will have a flexible schedule, the ability to work well with little supervision and live in San Francisco, close to the Russian Hill area, and have own car. Candidate will be working out of a personal residence. Required time is approximately 18-24 hours per week (4 - 6 hours per day), afternoons into early evening.

Experience Requirements

 Experience in an administrative/personal assistant capacity
 Mechanically oriented to be able to work and troubleshoot TV, phone, computer issues, minor household repairs and replacements
 Preference for someone with Occupational Therapy background

Educational Requirements

 Fluency in English

Qualifications

 Detail-oriented
 Excellent organizational and time management skills
 Excellent follow-up habits
 Must be able to take walks lasting 70 minutes or more in and around San Francisco
 Valid driver’s license and clean DMV and have own car
 Be able to pass a background check
 Be able to legally work in U.S.

Responsibilities

Appointments:
o Schedule appointments
o Meet service providers at his house (cable, utilities)
o Travel arrangements

Driving:
o Drive to and from appointments
o Pick up/drop off dry cleaning
o Drive to personal errands
o Working knowledge of public transportation and use of Uber and Lyft

Shopping:
o Help with grocery shopping
o Assist with personal shopping, such as clothes and shoe shopping

Overall companionship and household responsibilities:
o Maintain and manage calendar of appointments and events
o Interact with other family members, domestic and international
o Coordinate housekeeper and other service providers
o Coordinate purchase, deliver, repair of furniture, equipment and artwork
o Process mail
o Assist with email communications
o Assist with thank you notes
o Coordinate home repairs and maintenance
o Run errands
o Monitor and assist with wardrobe
o Meal preparation
o Car Maintenance: ensure that car gets proper scheduled maintenance
o Accompaniment on daily walking
o Accompaniment while dining
o Monitor weight, blood pressure and nutrition
o Preparation for personal travel
o Assistance with use of electronic equipment (cell phone, computer, audio,
TV, kitchen and laundry equipment)
