We are seeking a private chef who has trained and cooked authentic Indian vegetarian, lunches and dinners as a private chef for a minimum of 2 years. The family enjoys both Northern and Southern Indian cooking along with other cuisines. One member of the family must have all meals prepared gluten free.
This is one of our favorite long term clients and the only reason this job is open is due to the private chef we placed is moving out of state. They enjoy locally sourced and organic foods, as well as fresh flavors and spices.
The chef is responsible for stocking and maintaining the inventory of the kitchen items with fresh staples and favorite items. You should keep the house stocked with items for snacks and have food and drink available for the weekends when asked.
You'll prepare lunch for the Mr. to bring to work and the children with them to school. There will be guest lunches at the home and occasional dinners for guests.
The chef is responsible for set up, serving and clean up daily and should clean as they go. The chef is also responsible for deep cleaning of the kitchen and the outdoor kitchen
-Must have experience working with dietary restrictions or allergies and be able to accommodate accordingly
-Must have prior experience catering or entertaining for guests, and be flexible enough to accommodate last minute changes
-International culinary training and experience is preferred
- Experience in Authentic Indian Cooking either Northern or Southern.
- High School Education is required at a minimum
-Valid Driver's License Required
-Must be able to complete I-9, with accompanying documentation
-Must be local candidate and live on the peninsula or south bay
- Only local candidates will be considered.
-Present weekly menus by global region to head of household to approve on Sundays for the following week
-Family-style as well as plated dinners (chef sets the table and cleans up after)
-Grocery shopping for all food and kitchen items, maintaining food inventory control and organizing and managing the pantry
-Preparation of foods for days off, leaving healthy snacks, and complete meals for the weekend
-Prepare lunches for taking to school and office
-Keeping the kitchen sanitized is a priority. The chef is responsible for cleaning as they cook and keeping all appliances, drawers, floor, etc. immaculate.
-Must be capable of entertaining 8 - 18 guest on occasion
-Must be able to daily create interesting and adventurous menus for family of 4
-Must be able to prep food for children's lunches and weekends
